Relaxing Day at Sea

Wow, I just typed up what we were doing around the ship today and everything went Poof and it was all gone so I'll start over. condensed version.

I have been trying to track down for the past 2 days what had happened that.we didn't receive the Beverage Cards that I had pre purchased. Yesterday they assured me we would have them right away. No cards before bedtime. None after breakfast, the Beverage Manager had phoned and left messages that they were on their way. I went back this morning and informed them no we still didn't have them. Later I received another message they were delivered. No they weren't. So I returned their phone call and let them know I still hadn't gotten them. A few minutes later the front office phoned and appoligised that they were sorry that they were in fact still wherever. They did arrive just before lunch and surprise, surprise, our travel agent had also sent us one each, so let the PARTY begin.

Tonight was formal night, so out came the "dress up" clothes; which we certainly don't wear every day down on the farm. Suits. mud and grease just don't seem to go too well together. at our table we all had the Turkey Dinner as it is the American Thanksgiving today. Lovely dinner with all the trimmings.  Now comes the interesting bit. and I LIKED IT. I was going to have a glass of wine, between the wine steward and Bob they talked me into getting a bottle and then saving it for another or maybe two nights. Then the wine steward talked me into a DEAL of 3 bottles and that way I'll have some for almost the whole cruise. When he brought back my darling husbands key he informed me that the Beverage Manager wanted to thank me for my patience about the beverage cards and he was sending us after dinner drinks. You know the sweet kinds. Well I don't like them as they all seem too sweet for my liking and Bob doesnt drink so I received a NICE glass of champagne tonight and also one for tomorrow night.

They really did come through for us but I would like to know whatever happened to the beverage cards to begin with. If they got lost, or someone accidently took yhem or what. No one would be able to use them as they had our names on them and they have to be activated. A mystery.

Tonight was also the night to meet the Captain at the Captains Toast. Our Captain is Halle Thon Gunderson. from Norway. He was actually retired but they asked him to come back for a short time to fill in. He will be leaving us and another Captain will take over in a week or so. The Captain also introduced us to the senior Officers and the Employee of the month.  Also since it was a toast, more champagne. Oh I believe I'm getting sleepy.

Well we stayed on in the showroom at Sea for the entertainment for this evening who was Clare Langan, originally from Ireland. She plays the Flute,. which she started playing when she was 8. What a terrific performance, fantastic. If you ever get the chanc tio hear her by all means go to see her perform.

It was very windy all day today. Eric lost his cap to the wind and probably the ocean, but then apparently it was flying high so if you see one soaring through the air it just could be his. Heres a few more photos from today.
