Sea Day

A sea day today and we woke up rather late, but then what did we have to get up for?  We did make it to breakfast in the La Fontaine Dining Room, so I guess we wern't that late.

I then went to the Digital Workshop where we were checking out "Window's Store Apps", well we were supposed to however the internet wasn't cooperating, so we just got to listen to our instructor and have her explain it all to us. Window's 8 has built in store apps. So she tried to explain how they work together with Windows 8. The only thing is I only have Windows 7 and some are still using Vista and therefore we don't have them on our computers.. However if any of us do upgrade to 8 we can log on to HAL's website and get the tutorials.

At the same time "On Deck for a Cure" was taking place.  I had given my donation and received the t-shirt and bracelet but as it was humid and hot out I decided to attend the workshop. I have asthema and in certain conditions i find it hard to breath.  I have done the 5K walk around the deck before. It is non competitive and so you can walk at your own pace and they do provide water for you. The walk raises money for 6 International Cancer Organizations. So it is for a good cause.

On a sea day there is certainly lot's to do. There are seminars on "Tourisiam, Africa, Accupuncture, World Economy, and there were others.   You can go to Beginners Bridge, Improvisitation Workshop, Cooking show - making "empanadas".  these were all just in the morning.

This afternoon there was " Float your Boat Sea Trials, but I understand there was only one participant who made a boat.. Tean Trivia, Dancing With the Stars Dance Class - jive today,  Making and decorating gift wraps, duplicate and party bridge, Prinsendam Olympics Event #8,  Q & A period with Werner Salinger,  Learn to use your Digital camera,  Mix-ology  Class - Signature Cocktails,  Creative Crafts Class,  Pub trivia,  Afternoon cupcake tea and a Sabbeth Eve Service with Rabbi Dr Arthur Segal.

Sometimes when I get "Today on Location"  it tires me out just thinking of all the interesting events you can do each day, and I probably missed a few. At home sometimes people say " what is there to do all day when you are at sea, don't you get bored" ?  As you can see no one ever needs to get bored as you may do as much or as little as you want.

Today after  lunch in the Lido the boy's & Priscilla played cards and I packed one suitcase and then went in search of the others. Then after an ice cold glass of water i returned to our cabin for a shower and got ready for another and last formal night..

Had another great dinner tonight with all our friends again; and I'm starting to feel sad that we only have one night left together..

Showtime tonight was " Hit Me With A Hot Note" - which was a journey through popular music. Playing homage to the greats like Duke Ellington, Motown, Earth Wind & Fire, and Cotton Club Jazz. Other than too loud at times it was rather good.

After this we checked out all the photos the photographers had taken. I got 8, if you bought 3 you got the fourth one free, so I had 2 sets.  It is really a shame that there is such a waste of paper, They print up every one they take, no matter how it turns out, and by the look of the stacks that were left that probably no more than 25 - 30 % were sold. With the 8 that i did buy there was at least 20 - 25 that we didn't get.

Next it was off to the lido for my nightly green tea and a glass of ice water to end another great day at sea.
