This morning we anchored off of Alter Do Chao.
After breakfast we walked around the Promenade Deck. I only went one trip around
this morning as it was way too hot outside for me. We had planned on going to their beautiful white sandy beach but I decided I was going to stay on board ship where oit was cool.
Eric and Priscilla
did go on a tour into Santarem that Eric thought they should have done on the way up River.We had decided not to go as the buses were not air conditioned and I guess by what Priscilla said was that it wasn't too bad as long as the busses were moving. Once
they stopped anywhere it was terribly hot. It must hve been as when they got back to the tender pier they didn't even walk down to the beach or go to see the little craft booth's..
After dinner tonight we went to the Showroom to play a game; Majotity Rules, which was rather a fun game. Of course our team didn't win. Then we stayed for tonights entertainment. to see Luke Burrage perform.
He is an International Entertainer & Juggler. He was fairley good despite having such a low ceiling he could not get his balls, knives, etc. very high; at times they would hit the ceiling.
After
the Jugglers performance we went down to the Hudson Room and played a couple of hands of Hand & Foot. We (girls) beat the boys the first game and then the boy;s sort of skunked us the second game. It's a good thing our friend Gary wasn't here as he would
have been whining at the feist game and gloating over the second..
By the time we finished our two games it was 11:00PM and time for the Indonesian Crew Show. It is held so late at night as the
crew are all busy and really have to work hard to make it by 11:00pm. They really did a great job; it is a show where they try to show us some of their culture through song and dance. Some of the crew are really talented. I believe there were only 2 girls
on stage; one was a co_MC and the other daid a lovely dance. It was extra nice as we knew a lot of the crew who ere performing. The crew did a great job.
Well fineally we were Party Animals tonight
and stayed up till after 12:00AM. It's a wonder we didn't turn into pumpkins, ogres or something.
