Another great Sea Day

Today was another nice sea day, a bit of swell here on the sea today but not too much, just enough to let you know you are at sea.

We started our morning off with our breakfast at the Pinnacle Grill again, with my usual; OJ. raisain bun, Breakfast Parfait, and old fashioned Oatmeal. The girls had waffles and bacon again this morning.

I had an invitation this morning to attend the Mariner Society Reception at 10:30am in the Queen's Lounge, deck 2, which was then followed by Lunch at 11:00am in the Manhattan Dining Room also on deck 2.  It was requested that no shorts or tank tops be worn but the dress code was Smart Casual. After the reception I joined the girls, who were also both mariners and invited to lunch.

I forgot to take along a note pad to make note of all the medals which were given out. There were a number of copper, then a few less for the silver, a couple of gold, but I don't believe there were any Platinum.  There were 2 ladies who were in attendance who each have sailed over 2000 days with the Holland America Line. These ladies each had their photos taken with Captain Bas Van Dreumel and Hotel Director, Charles A. Verwall. Then when they arrived to get their photos taken the each asked for other ship officers and  bar Stewards to join the Photo. The Cruise Director said it was for them and the Captain & Hotel Director; but the Captain said no, for anyone who has sailed that many dat's can choose whom they want in their photos.

After our luncheon we walked around the ship, checked out the store's again and then returned to our stateroom to sit on deck for awhile.

At 2:00pm I went to another Wine tasting, this one was at the Pinnacle Lounge and besides the wine we also had a glass of champagne. Another 5 glasses,a 2009 Veuve Clicauot (spelling ?) Yellow Label from France, a nice Ferrari Carano Chardonnay from California,a 2011 Les Closiers Chateauneuf du Pape from France, a 2009 Silverado Cabernet Sauvignor from California, ana a Grahams 6 Grape Port Wine. By this time I have no idea where the last one is from; hopeing I could still walk and find our stateroom. LOL

There was also the plate of cheese; different from plate we had on Monday. This plate also included a cracker, a spicy cheese and a small chocolate along with other cheese's and a small piece of bread.  These wines were selected from their Premier Package and the Monday's was from their Navigator Package.

I was able to make it back to our stateroom and get ready for tonights Formal night, I think I got everything the right way around and my shoes on the right feet. Anyway another nice evening with our friendly Quebec tablemates and nice meal as well. Tonight I had the "Surf" in the Surf &Turf; yes  2 lobster's tonight,  Oh so yummy.

After dinner we went to the Crows Nest Lounge to listen to the guitartist, Krista, tonight she was playing acoustic versions of popular music from the '60's.

Also in the Showroom at Sea tonight the Hal Entertainers were also paying tribute to rock music from the '60's. I checked this out and it was just too loud; so I went for my usual cup of green tea and a chocolate chip cookie at the Lido and took it back to drink on our deck.
