Statendam arrived, Dc.15/14

Statendam just sailed into San Diego.

Boarding Ship

Was up very early this morning to watch the Stantendam come into the Harbor. Where is it ?  Ah, Cruise Critic will know it's time of arrival.🙂 So after checking and discovering that it wasn't due in untl 7:00AM I went back to bed to warm up. Oh Oh, I fell back to sleep and when I came to it was just tying up at the dock. What a great room we had to be able to watch all the goings on and hear as they were making announcements.

We dressed and went next door to eat breakfast and watched the passengers disembarking and others going, to get ready to board. After we ate we went back to our room took one last look around and pulled our suitcases's down the street to board as well.

We didn't have long to wait and being 4 Star we were amongst the first to board.👍

Our room was already and we were there only a few minutes when our room Steward Ali came and Introduced himself and then his assistant (Did It) arrived as well.It was still early so we went out on our deck to see wht else was going on in the harbor this morning. Also wanted to get a picture of our hotel. Here it is.

Our room 12th floor. that's the second row down from the top and the second room in from the center of the building. Our window/ patio door curtain is open as is the one below our room.

Next we toured around the ship and went to the Mariner Society Lunch. After a leisurely lunch we toured around a bit more then came back to our cabin and Bob slept while I unpacked all our suitcases.  Then it was time for muster, so we duitfuly listened to all the announcements and then proceeded to our lifeboat station 04.

Freshened up for dinner, ate and our table mates said we should certainly go to the Showroom to "Listen to the Music"; showcasing the Statendam Entertainment team.  There was a couple there, she sang soprano and he sang tenor and they had beautiful voices which blended together just lovely.

After the show which was over at 10:00PM we came right back to our room and to bed. The last 2 days had been long ones and especially Bob was tired out before we started. So goodnight all and we will dream happy drems while being rocked to sleep.

I'll leave you with a picture of one of the double doors going into the Showroom as well as a shot of the control board.

Large double glass doors with a beautiful Brass Handle.
Control's for all the productions in the Showroom.
