This morning was our last breakfast in the beautiful "Elegant Explorer" dining Room. How sad.😥
We have eaten breakfast beside very interesting
people during our cruise. I say beside, because we usually had a table for two at the back looking out at our wake. Here the tables are very close together so there is plenty of opportunity to get to chat with your fellow diners. We met people from
the east coast to the west coast of both the USA and Canada and also inbetween. Then there were couples from Australia, New Zeland and England. We were definitely a multi culture ship.
While dressing each morning for the day we would turn into "Good
Morning Prinsendam"; which is a morning TV show about the upcoming day's events taking place around the ship. This was usually hosted by our Cruise Director, Christine, and she always has someone else with her giving us interesting facts about ship life or
what to do special today.
This morning there was an International Christian service with Reverand Bob Paulen. We were at breakfast at this time but Priscilla attended and said that it was a lovely Christmas service.
This afternoon a Vigil Mass
was celebrated with Father Robert Pearson.
I'm afraid I only ate and packed today while Bob ate, played cards and sat on our deck, out of my way and I think likely napping out there.
After dinner in the La Fontain Dining Room we sadly said goodby
to our new friends and table mates from the Seattle Area as well as our great servers and wine Steward. Then we went to the Showroom at Sea and watched while Christine, our cruise Director, talked 3 couples into participatating in the Marriage Game.
It turned out to be a lot of fun and we were all just glad it wasn't us up there on stage.
We then took a last stroll around the ship, had a listen to Adagio in the Explorers Lounge one last time. Then we stopped for a bit to hear the Ocean Dreans play
in the Ocean Bar. Here we parted and Eric & Priscilla went to the "Dancing with the Stars of the Sea" final competition.
I went to the Lido for my last cup of green tea and ice water, then went back to our cabin and went out on deck and just sat
listening to us gliding over the sea and watching the stars. This I will miss until my next cruise in March with my daughter and hopefully my adult granddaughter as well.
So goodnight from the "Elegant Explorer", Prinsendam as tomorrow night we will be
at a hotel in New Jersey on a stopover enroute to our home in Nova Scotia.
