My Goodness Christmas Eve is here already. We slept in this morning then we lazily had breakfast and were in no hurry to go anywhere.
Finely we decided to take the Maui Divers free shuttle into the city and then transport to another shuttle to Wikakii. We were dropped off at the Westin Hotel, went through the lobby to the beach.
Wikakii is about 2 1/2 miles long and approximately 1/4 mile wide. It was packed, People just laying in the sun, swimming, surfing, para sailing, etc. A very, very busy beach. So that we could just
sit and watch what all was going on we sat outside on the terrace and ordered drinks. Bob a Coke Zero and I had a Strawberry Daquari. That way we were allowed to just sit and watch. One couple sat down and the waitress asked them what they would like
and they said they just wnted to sit awhile. They were told to leave. We sat and took in all the sights for about an hour and a half and we finely hailed our waitress and asked for our bill.
It cost us about $30.00 for just 2 drinks but we decide we were still ahead as some paid $35.00 to get there by Taxi and then again to return to our ship. Just like yesterday we paid $40.00 for our HAL tour to Pearl Harbor; others thought
they could do it on their own cheaper and it ended up costing them $45.00 to see what we did just at Pearl Harbor. They also did not get to go to the Memorial Cemetery or the tour of the city.
Sometimes it pays to take the ships tours, especially if you think you may not get back to the ship on time. On a private tour the ship could leave without you if your not back on time.
All aboard today was 3:30PM and we sailed out of the Harbor around 4:00PM.
Tonights Showtime was "Unforgetable" with the Statendam singers. Every
one of them has a great voice. I think this cruise is the first where I have enjoyed all the singers and band. These HAL Cats are also great. Tonights show was songs from "our" Hit Parade day's. Nostalgic and hevenly.
Then at 11:00PM the Captain and crew presented a Christmas Eve International Chior, very lovely. Then there was both a Midnight Mass with Father Joseph and also at the same time an Interdenominational Service.
A long day, even after sleeping in. Merry Christmas Everyone.
